Here are a few of the projects that LCMG have worked on 

 

 

 

  • Easthaven Cemetery Restoration Project

  • Great American Cleanup in Lincoln County collected tons of trash and litter as part of the Keep America Beautiful Program in April of 2004 and again in 2005 and 2006.  Jane Kees coordinated the many components of this project with Keep Lincoln County Beautiful and the Solid Waste Coordinator.

 

  • Exit 40  and Arbor Day 2003 projects with tree plantings 

 

  • Kids' Kingdom Plantings in 2003

KDMC Break area completed in spring 2003.

 

 

  • Thomas Perkins Memorial Garden at the Lincoln County Library...completed June 2002.

  • LCMG Christmas tree at Lincoln County Library
  • Completed a 2-day Garden Event with the Ole Brook Festival

  • Lincoln County Library landscaping and planting
  • 2003 Great American Cleanup project with Keep Lincoln County Beautiful
  • April 25 from 9:30 - 12 noon... 1858 East Lincoln Road SE.  Master Gardeners and other presenters will provide gardening information.

Subjects to be covered include: Landscape and Patio Gardening, Landscaping with color, Ornamentals, Water Gardening, Butterfly Gardening and Lawn Disease control

 

2002 Projects

  • February  2&3, 2002   The Brookhaven Camellia Show was held at the State Room on Cherokee Street in Brookhaven.  This year we had 1058 blooms in the show.  Entries came from Tennessee to Texas and some 200 visitors came by to enjoy the flowers.
  • Tree Day was held February 12, 2002.  This event was sponsored by the Lincoln County Soil and Water District.  More than 4000 trees were sold to the public.  It was held at the new Mississippi National Guard Building on Highway 84.  A wide selection of tree varieties were available for Lincoln County residents.
  • Garden and Patio Show in Jackson on 3/9 &10 - Camellia Demo
  • March 15 from 12 noon  to 2 p.m. at Wand's Seed Store -- Master Gardeners will be helping with Camellia demo
